Employee Spotlight: Meet Fadum 

In October, we were excited to sit down with OCH’s dedicated team of Housing Administrators – those on the front lines who serve as the first point of contact for many tenants.   

To celebrate Women’s History Month, we are highlighting the voices of women in the workplace, sharing their stories of success, challenges, and the impact they make every day.  

Fadum was drawn to OCH because of its commitment to providing safe and affordable houses to a diverse range of tenants.   

“The organization’s focus on community engagement and its reputation for innovation in diversity and inclusion really resonated with me,” she said. “I wanted to be part of a team that makes a tangible difference in people’s lives.”  

Housing Administrators handle a wide range of tasks, from processing rent payments to managing tenant interactions – addressing concerns, answering questions and providing support.   

Fadum said one of her favourite parts of her job is the collaborative team environment and being able to make an impact on tenants’ lives. She said she loves problem-solving and finding creative solutions to tenant concerns.   

“Team collaboration is essential, so we often communicate about ongoing cases and share insights to ensure we provide the best service possible,” said Fadum.  

Fadum about her perspective as a woman.   

She said she sometimes has to navigate people’s biases – and there can be a lack of representation of women in leadership roles. However, Fadum said she feels supported at OCH and appreciates continuous learning opportunities that help her grow professionally and personally.  

“OCH fosters a supportive environment that encourages professional development and empowers women to take on leadership opportunities,” she said. “It’s about finding your voice and advocating for yourself while also supporting others in their journeys.”
